CSV's National Network challenges young people aged 16-35 to volunteer away from home for between four months and a year. All receive food, accommodation, travel and a lunch allowance. Local Action offers local volunteering opportunities for disadvantaged people. No volunteer is ever rejected.

The Sea Cadets help young people towards responsible adulthood by encouraging valuable personal attributes and high standards of conduct, using a nautical theme based on the customs of the Royal Navy. Activities range between sailing, adventure training, first aid, cookery, mechanical and electrical engineering and we are an Operating Authority for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award. Our 400 local Units are always on the look out for volunteers to become instructors or committee members. St John Ambulance provide First Aid and medical support services, caring services in support of community needs and education, training and personal development to young people. They involve young people from the age of 5 upwards, as Badgers (up to 10) or Cadets (10-18). They also have a student wing, LINKS.
