Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I am most passionate about World poverty. As people live their lives, they need to think about others who are less fortunate than them. Also, people who have the opportunity to make a difference, need to do so. We need to come up with solutions to help third world countries and make the world a better place for everyone.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

I think the most important issues in my area are places to go and ways to get there. Adults complain that teenagers just hang around, but what are we meant to do when we have no where to go and meet our friends? I also think that bullying is an issue among young people and that all young people need to know where and how to get help.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

I hope to fairly represent all the young people in my area. We deserve to have our views listened to and to be taken seriously. I also want to promote the UKYP, so, young people will know that they can indeed be taken seriously.

What is your future career ambition?

I’m not really sure yet, but I want to do something to do with designing (product design, interior design or architecture).

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

I’d have to say Martin Luther King because he stood up for what he believed in no matter what, even though he was not listened to at the start he never stopped and risked his life, he is admired by so many people. I would also say those people who work so hard and care so much but do not get mentioned.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Please listen to young people. Our views matter and we know what were talking about. Also, stop letting the media make us look bad. If they keep giving us this reputation, some teenagers are going to want to live up to it. The media is making it worse. So far, 88% of the headlines about teenagers are negative! We are being stereotyped because of a minority.

Additional comments:

Thank you to all those people who voted for me! I will try my best.
