Which political issues are you most passionate about? One of the political issues I feel passionate about is lowering the voting age to sixteen. This is so that younger people will become much more aware of how their country is run, but it would mean we would have to bring in the political education part, so whilst you’re in high school, you will get taught much more about politics. What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency? In my constituency the biggest issue is that there is nothing to do where they live, so they end up sitting around the streets in larger groups, having fun. If there were youth clubs, and more activities made up for them, they would be able to enjoy themselves, and be in a safe environment. What do you hope to achieve during your term of office? During my term of office, I hope to get more activities for young people set up, and get their opinions of what they like/dislike about their area. Also I do hope to engage the young people with the older people, so that we can get them working with each other. What is your future career ambition? When I’m older, I hope to become an MP, because I feel that working with your community is a big issue. Being an MP you can help the people around where you live, make them feel safer, or get more activities for the community. Which public figure do you most admire and why? I admire Nelson Mandela because of what he did in South Africa. He is a very inspirational figure. If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be? That they should listen to every young person, as we have good and strong opinions, and that we are not as bad as people think we are.
