Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I am really strong about poverty and human rights. I struggle to understand how we can live in the 21st century and have everything we want when there are other people in the world who are dying. These people could be saved simply through basic necessities such as food, clean water and basic medical care and yet we do very little to help. There is enough money in the world to sort this out. However, we chose to spend this money on luxury items.  Allied to that, I strongly believe that everyone’s basic rights should be respected and upheld. We are all human and all deserve to be treated equally and fairly and our rights upheld.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

It is certainly the lack of activities for young people, affordable transport and the negative image of young people created by the media and a small minority of young people. I live in a rather rural area and the choice of activities for young people as well as access to transport is limited. Better public transport would certainly improve this situation. Also, young people often express their concerns over the way they are stereotyped as “Hoddies”.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

There are many things that I would like to achieve during my term of office. I would like to tackle all of the issues that I have said above. However, I hope that I can really make a real difference in lots of peoples’ lives and get the things that young people want and need.

What is your future career ambition?

I hope to become a Barrister (specialising in Human Rights).

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

I don’t really have a public figure that I really admire. On the other hand, I know lots of amazing people, such as my family and friends. These are the people that I really admire and inspire me.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

"It is often said that young people are the future. If this is so, then why is it that we are so often ignored? Young people know what they want, but are just pushed to the side lines. After all, the people who are going to experience your decisions the most are young people. So listen to us.

Additional comments:

“Young people are not just tomorrow, we are also today”
