Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Race, discrimination and inequality should not be tolerated. I think it is incredibly important to tackle these issues and look at each individual from the same angle, looking at who we are "NOT" what we are. I believe when we achieve equality and abolish discrimination, we will find a more harmonious society…
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
Young people are what they are made to be... There is so much being said about young people across the country and it is a "hot topic", but it is unfortunate that most of it is negative. The media should recognise the success being demonstrated by young people rather than focus on crime and violence. The main issue for young people in my constituency would be that they lack hope and aspirations. I blame the media and the stereotypical views held against them...."we all need to presume less and understand more".
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I want to be the voice of all young people living in my constituency...ensuring that young people are heard and not ignored. I hope to put on a road show where myself and my team will travel across the borough and meet with young people to listen to what issues and concerns they have, and then hope to find ways of solving them. I would also like to provide the young people of Tower Hamlets who do not attend college or work with more training and employment opportunities, so they continue to progress and I hope to cut down the temptation of turning to "negative alternatives". Overall I would also like to break down the barrier between the young people and the "older generations" in Tower Hamlets, so that both groups understand and respect each other...
What is your future career ambition?
Good question. I probably change my mind about the career I want to pursue every other day! But the career that always comes back to me and has been on my mind from a very early age, is to be a barrister... The English legal system has always amazed me, the number of statutes, the incredible facts of cases and the beautiful citations made by Lords all makes it a exciting subject to study.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I simply admire all those who worked hard to become who they are and never gave up.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Presume less!!... Understand more!!...
