Name: Misba Ul Islam
Position: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Sunderland
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am very passionate about the whole political system. It is just not working at all and to be honest, politicians are now being more precarious about their welfare rather than running the country itself.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
The biggest issue for people in my constituency would be the whole bullying system (e.g. racism, sexism etc). There are many people of several backgrounds in Sunderland and many people stay in similar groups causing tension between each “group”.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
During my time in office I hope I can achieve a lot, including changes that affect everyone and make UKYP more known in my city. I hope to change things for the better in Sunderland and take part in matters affecting the country.
What is your future career ambition?
I have many future career ambitions. One is to get involved in politics, perhaps even be a contender for Prime Minister of the UK. If this doesn’t work out, I always want to become a pilot in the RAF or get into the field of science and maths.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire Sir Alan Sugar. He is a man who was brought up with very little money and respect and has established a multi million pound company and has turned out to be one of the most respected business man in the UK.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Sort yourself out! Your politicians are a shamble and only care for your own being. Follow the steps of a bunch of MPs who actually care for this country and strive for its improvement. Labour, Conservatives and Liberal Democrats should not be fighting against each other for the “top spot”. Instead you should all be uniting together and making this country a better place for all of us to live in.
Additional comments:
I am looking forward to my time as a deputy UKYP and hope I can make the most of my two years here!
