-------------------------------------------------------- Which political issues are you most passionate about? I believe in the value of life from the moment of conception to its natural end; therefore the current Embryology Bill going through parliament is of particular interest to me. As I believe in the dignity of every person I feel passionate about the negative stereotypical images of young people and some ethnic minorities in the media. What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency? I believe that combating stereotypical images of certain socio-cultural groups in order to dissipate prejudice is of significant importance along with making sure that the voice of young people is heard – after all, the Gateshead Youth Assembly’s motto is ‘A voice for young people’. What do you hope to achieve during your term of office? I hope to abide by my political and moral convictions and therefore speaking out for the value of life and the dignity of every young person regardless of their circumstances .I also hope to represent my constituency faithfully to their wishes. What is your future career ambition? I hope to do a degree in Theology and pursue my calling into the priesthood (R.C). Which public figure do you most admire and why? Pope Benedict XVI- because when he was young he always kept sight of his religious and moral conviction, even when forced to join the ‘Hitler Youth’. This was a time of great danger for people of his frame of mind but yet he was unmoved even against the most threatening and evil regime of our time. If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be? The political authority must guarantee an ordered and upright community life without usurping the free activity of individuals and groups but disciplining and orienting this freedom, by respecting and defending the independence of the individual and social subjects, for the attainment of the common good.
