Name:Owen Ashworth

Position: MYP

Constituency:
Halton

--------------------------------------------------------

Which political issues are you most passionate about?

I believe in better education and tackling bullying.

What do you feel is the biggest issue for young people in your constituency?

I think that young people are getting bad press coverage lately. I would like to give a bigger profile to all the good things they do. When projects are planned then I want to make sure the press are informed. Thus, showing them that we all do not hang round the streets drinking.

What do you hope to achieve during your term of office?

Firstly, awareness of the young disabled within Halton. At the moment, there is a fantastic ad campaign  on the TV about awareness. I also think that the fact I have been voted in as a MYP shows it's working. In addition, I aim to change older peoples' awareness of the young people in Halton. Let them know about all the good things they do.

What is your future career ambition?

I am hoping for any career to do with Maths or Science. Firstly, I'm going to college, then I want to go to university. I really enjoy maths and anything to do
with science. I did very well with these subjects in my GCSEs.

Which public figure do you most admire and why?

I most admire Stephen Hawking because what he has done come to become a success. I am also in a wheel chair and I also use a machine (dyvanox)
to talk. I wish I could be a success in the field of maths or science.

If there was one message you could send to the government, what would it be?

Stop looking at the bad things that young people do. Open your eyes and you will see all the good things and all the projects that is happening around the country.
