Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am very passionate about university tuition fees; I believe that everyone has the right to education – no matter what their financial situation. Many young people cannot afford to go to university even though they have a high enough intelligence to do so, why shouldn’t they be granted the privilege of a university education?! I am also passionate about the image of young people in today’s media. There is a negative stereotype of the minority of young people and the majority are paying for it!
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
The lack of money. There are many activities for young people to take part in, however, they either cannot afford to take part or are unable to pay the transport fair to get there; hence the stereotypical view of young people “hanging around on street corners”.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to get working straight away on lowering tuition fees for university and to improve the image of young people along side that. I hope to get my constituents view heard and action taken!
What is your future career ambition?
I hope to study medieval studies (possibly with politics) at university and go on to become a teacher or maybe a politician, only time will tell.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I do not admire a particular public figure. I admire anyone what has the courage to stand up and fight for what they believe is right.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Young people are the future. Decisions you make affecting young people will have consequences, be it good or bad in the future.
