Name: Miriam Hall
Position: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Southampton
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Protecting the rights of all people to live full and peaceful lives. I also believe combating climate change is probably the greatest challenge of our generation.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
There needs to be more affordable events and opportunities for young people in my constituency to enjoy themselves.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to see a serious investment in youth projects and events throughout the city as they provide an invaluable chance for people to relax, enjoy themselves and be engaged in their communities.
What is your future career ambition?
I want to be involved in politics, either in the civil service or through political journalism. It is one of the subjects I intend to study at university.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Anyone who works to improve the lives of others, who takes action to shape their world for the better, is admirable.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
That in the modern world tolerance and diplomacy must be the foundation of foreign policy. Subjugation through war will never bring peace and peace is the only legacy any generation has the right to leave another. We expect and accept nothing less from our leaders and ourselves.
