Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
Overbearing bureaucrats, the European Union, growing debt, political correctness.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
The quality of education has to come next to transport and more things to do. It is a tragedy that many young people don’t get the opportunities that they should get. They’re shunned by an education system that says academic is best. For some it is but not for everyone.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
This is my fourth year as a Member of the UK Youth Parliament, and my last. I have delivered in my constituency and now know it’s a better place than what it was four years ago.
I want to make sure that the UK Youth Parliament does not become even more politically correct, obsessed with ticking boxes. Monitoring information is incredibly important. I just fail to understand how UKYP asks an eleven year old their sexuality but not whether they are educated independently or by the state!
What is your future career ambition?
To become a multi millionaire business owner! But first, I wish to become a Management Consultant. After I have made some cash, my aim would be to go into the political world and sit on the green benches.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
Margaret Thatcher. The Lady is, a remarkable woman. She managed to achieve things which had seemed almost impossible. I admire Margaret Thatcher's boldness and uprightness. One of her strengths was how she wisely emphasised values such as the importance of family. She gave aspiration and opportunity to millions of working class citizens, to be able to afford their own home and work for themselves.
Thatcher didn't pander to populism and she wasn't afraid to take unpopular decisions. She stood up for what she belived was right for Great Britiain.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Give up! Twelve years is too long for any Government, the longer they last hanging onto power – the more out of touch the become with the British people. I am going to be naughty – Gordon Brown you should stop borrowing, start cutting and deliver the referendum on the EU Treaty you promised.
