Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
University tuition fees should definitely be scrapped. Everyone should be able to go to university. I’m also interested in political education. True, a lot of politics is boring. But it’s important and it affects all our lives so we need to know about it.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
The image of young people comes up all the time. Of course there are teenagers who do bad stuff but in the media they’ve got it way out of proportion.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I’d like to publicise the good things young people do, in particular making sure all the young people in my area have heard of Youth Parliament, and that adults see that we can be responsible and make decisions.
What is your future career ambition?
I’d really love to be a screenwriter – it might sound unrealistic, but somebody’s got to do it.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
The author Philip Pullman because, as well as his books being works of complete genius, he writes for children as if we were adults.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Don’t underestimate young people. Listening to us shouldn’t just be because of whatever the Human Rights Act says, I mean we actually have good ideas. Often we think of things adults just wouldn’t.
