Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
The political issue I’m most passionate at the moment are the stereotypical prejudices against young people, including how the youth of Britain are negatively portrayed in the media. I feel most passionate about this because I think this issue is most relevant to me at my current stage. In addition I feel strongly about this because now I have the power to give young people a voice and to therefore make a difference for the good.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I aim to work on all issues as a whole. However, my greatest concern for youth in Torbay is that they mostly feel they have nothing to do, and are isolated by society. I want to change the image of youths and give them something enjoyable to do in their leisure time.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to change young people’s lives in Torbay and hopefully have a part in changing their lives in Devon, across the South West and possibly all across the UK.
What is your future career ambition?
I hope to become a doctor in the near future- in the field or reconstructive surgery. Why? Because I want to help people in a special way, enough to change their whole lives for the good.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire Mahatma Gandhi. He made a real impact on the world and stood up for what he believed in even though he was against all odds. He is an inspiration to many people and his legacy will live on for many years to come.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Listen to the public, because that is what you are there for. However, the common public opinion may not always be the most logical, as we are not all politicians. In which case, the government should explain why the public opinion may be incorrect, and suggest a compromise. They should respect the public more, and do more listening rather than speaking.
