Name: Lauren Fawcett
Position: Deputy MYP
Constituency: Staffordshire

Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I think the way young people are portrayed in the media is a key issue and that our opinions are generally ignored. I also think that car insurance for younger drivers is extortionate and is the source of a lot of problems such as being unable to fund higher education, which is also extortionate.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I think the biggest issue is that young people are generally not seen to have a valid opinion. Without the respect we deserve we have no chance of addressing any further issues.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
First and foremost I hope to be a supportive DMYP to every young person in my constituency by responding quickly and effectively to any issues raised. I also hope to back the abolition of university fees campaign, which is currently running.
What is your future career ambition?
My career ambition is to become a barrister specialising in civil law.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
J.K. Rowling, I think she is a fantastic writer and living proof that with determination and tenacity you can raise yourself from having nothing to being incredibly successful.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
At the end of the day, young people are the future of this country and our opinions should be held in much higher regard. A lot of young people have brilliant ideas that could really take this country forwards.
Additional comments:
I would just like to thank everyone who voted for me and also my fantastic campaign team for making my campaign a success. I promise that I will put my heart and soul into this position.
