Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am passionate about a lot of different issues but I feel that there are many that need to be invested in. Some of the issues that I am most passionate about are:
- Investing in young people
- Climate change
- Community development
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I think that there aren’t enough opportunities for young people to do and if there are they aren’t advertised well enough. Only a few people, generally those who are already involved actually hear about them.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to contribute to making our campaigns successful and actually impacting people not only in my own community but across the country as it is a national campaign. I feel that if young people are taught about politics then they can get more involved and will be more informed and able to make important decisions when it is their turn to vote in the future.
What is your future career ambition?
At the moment I am considering going into politics or perhaps working as an aid/charity worker in poor developing countries.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I admire Joanne Lumley for all the work that she has done for the Gurkhas because she is showing that she respects them and appreciates the sacrifices that they have made for the country and that they deserve the right to live here. She is using her status as a famous celebrity to benefit other people and get positive media which puts pressure on the government to do something about it.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Every single person who has power in the Government should do the best they can to work with and help the people in their local communities. Too many MPs and MEPs etc do not spend enough time with their constituents to find out what they really want. If they did then decisions about laws, bills and policies etc could be made to benefit the largest majority of people across the country. It is impossible to please everybody but more needs to be known from the people as to what they want and they need to be listened to!
They wonder why so many people don’t want to vote!
They don’t trust the people standing for election or the people already elected!
