Name: Emma Fiddler
Position: MYP
Constituency: Sheffield
--------------------------------------------------------
Which political issues are you
most passionate about?
I am most passionate about the Fares Fair campaign that the UKYP’s got running because I believe that all young people should not pay for public transport and they have the right to travel free throughout the country.
What do you feel is the biggest
issue for young people in your constituency?
I feel the biggest issue in my constituency is the lack of provisions and the lack of sport facilities. This is something I passionate about along with the health issue that is attached to the lack of these provisions.
What do you hope to achieve during
your term of office?
I hope to change the lack of provisions in my constituency. I hope to do this by working along with my fellow MYPs and Deputy MYPs and I hope this will be successful.
What is your future career ambition?
I hope to go to university and become a teacher. After that I hope I might still be involved with politics at some stage in my life as this is a passion of mine. But if I can’t be involved with this I hope that the future generation will be actively involved.
Which public figure do you most
admire and why?
I don’t really have a public figure who I admire but with the latest controversy about cervical cancer I think I admire Jade Goody, as she has campaigned on this issue throughout her last few weeks of her life. She campaigned to raise the awareness of cervical cancer and the devastation it can cause.
If there was one message you could
send to the government, what would it be?
Not all teenagers are the same and they all have different views and they all do different things. We are not all drug taking, alcohol bingeing, teenagers.
Additional comments:
If we can all disprove the theory that all teenagers are the same we can make this country a better place and we can show this country what teenagers are really like.
