1 A young person between the ages of 16-25 (or mature student) can apply for a Young Persons Railcard but there is no national concession card for bus users.

A standard class ticket from Manchester to London could cost you £109.50, or £8.25. Travel costs for a single journey can very dramatically.

Oyster Cards are free for all under 16s in London. This entitles them to free bus travel and reduced tube fares.

Over 20% of all UK carbon emmissions come from cars & lorries on the road.

Car exhaust is very dangerous because it contains a multitude of harmful toxins.These gases have been associated with an increased risk of death (Particulates), impairing neurobehavioral function, chronic bronchitis and asthma (More than one in seven children in the UK now suffer from asthma, six times as many as 25 years ago)

For every passenger mile traveled, public transportation uses less than one half of the fuel of private automobiles, producing 5% as much carbon monoxide and less than 8% as much as the other pollutants that create smog.

10 From mid 2001 it became compulsory for schemes in England to offer, as a minimum, half fare bus travel to elderly residents.
