Support the South Central Franchise- we need your help!

04/12/07

The Department for Transport has requested as much input from young people as possible for the new South Central Rail Franchise. Katrina Mather, South East MYP, has been working with the network in a bid to improve services for young people in the South East and London.

What you need to do.
A proposal has been put forward to reduce travel costs for young people in full time education as well as more trains travelling out of London into the surrounding areas and the South East. 11.08pm and 12.08 am particularly on Friday and Saturday nights have been highlighted as priority times. Southern Rail Network now need as many young people to e-mail the contact below with the following statement;

To: Samantha.Bryant@ruralsussex.org.uk

As a young person affected by transport costs and frequency, I would use cheaper public transport and the later proposed rail services, it really is vital that you do this, because it is something that would benefit a lot of people in London and the South East.

Add your specific services requirements if there is something that you feel strongly about, such as the train route, times, days and number of people who would use these services if they were available.
In the new year the Department for Transport will be releasing an email address which will allow you to comment directly to them. However early submission is key so please respond directly to Sam Bryant urgently.
